About this project

A detached home in Staten Island with a steeper-than-average pitch and a complex roofline: two dormers, a front porch section, and a rear addition with a separate slope. We tore off the entire surface, inspected and found the decking in good condition (original 3/4" plank sheathing (solid)), installed synthetic underlayment throughout with ice-and-water shield at eaves and dormers, and installed GAF Camelot II shingles in weathered wood. The dormers got new step flashing. The homeowners had wanted to upgrade from the builder-grade shingles for years. The result looked like a different house.
